A wintery sunrise at Hopewell Rocks, New Brunswick

I cannot remember a time that I did not feel a strong connection with Atlantic, Canada. The people, the land and the ocean called to me. However my move to New Brunswick was unexpected. I had never spent much time in the province, it was a place I drove through to my final destination of PEI or Nova Scotia. I never gave it much thought and I have to say I never anticipated moving to New Brunswick.

I found myself stuck in Moncton, New Brunswick for the full covid-19 pandemic. Everything was shut down, there was no place to go except the outdoors. The lock down led me to begin to discover the outdoor places this province had to offer. I had no idea how amazing the landscapes would be. New Brunswick has everything, cliffs, waterfalls, amazing beaches and ocean views, not to mention the highest tides in the world.

The months have turned into over a year and I have come to adore this place. The natural beauty of this province is amazing. Exploring this province has provided endless inspiration for my art. As I have been hiking around, taking in the amazing vistas and breathing in the fresh air, I have been trying to commit to memory the unique beauty of this place. I take pictures to try to preserve these amazing sites, and hope that the art I produce from this inspiration can capture just a tiny bit of the natural beauty I see around me.
